smokin evo 8

Hey guys. I just got into DSM and i dont know much yet. My car smokes very badly after I stay in high boost for longer than a couple seconds. And i keep blowing my blow off valve off my up pipe. The reason for that is the pipe gets very oily and it looses grip. What seal needs replacing and where can i get it?

An Evo is NOT a DSM. Most likely your valve cover vent is still routed into your MAF pipe which goes into the turbo. The oil vapor goes through the turbo and coats the inner cooler piping as it cools off and gets on the inside of the FMIC and UICP and can cause the coupler at the throttle body to become oil soaked and swell and blow off. Sometimes other couplers can do the same things.

You have to try to be more specific and descriptive. For example, does it blow white smoke when you let off the throttle after being on boost? It could be piston rings, valve seals, valve guides, or the turbocharger´s seals, among other things.

EDIT...How much boost are you running? Is you car using oil?

Might be your valve seals...Are your spark plugs oily too?

Yeah its when i let off but only if it is a long pull. I've had it a month now. It has 61,000miles on it. Intake, upper and lower Intercooler pipes, turbo back exhaust.

White smoke when you let off after a pull is most likely turbocharger seals. Send your turbo into FP, or Blouch. Or a local turboshop that does MHI turbos. Dark smoke is something else.

Is the hose clamp on there and are you tightening it with a socket/ratchet?
