How close is the hta3582 compared to the 5857 on spool up? Seems like I've seen the hta3582 actually spool faster.....But shouldn't the 5857 spool faster ? Both had .82 a/r hotsides but I wonder how much better the response would be with the .63...

I know i get full boost at about 4600 rpms on 28psi with the 5857 journal bearing and vband hotside. The ball bearing should be able to do a couple hundred better from what i hear.

6057 feels like a Black, boost to boost, with about 800rpm less response.

I got identical numbers above 5k mod for mod both at 28psi (439whp). Below that the Black had the 6057 by alot, though some of it was the car in question I compared it to was an S2 IX to an S2 VIII so that can be some of it.

It sounds like unless you want +700whp and you have e85 locally, oyu should go black or red. If you want more go with 35hta of up. It looks like alot of the evo's running these setups are making sub red numbers.

OK so with the Green, Red, Black Stock frame Turbo's :-

Life for pump gas T3 fans starts with the:

HTA 3582

which spools like a 5857 about 4500rpm on a built 2L that can rev to 9000rpm and still have a maximum drivable powerband...

Four Door Street Bikes FTW!

i think the 5857 has potential at much higher boost levels than 28. I tuned one yesterday and she didnt seem to like running any less than 26, but then ofcourse there was not really a considerable amount of power at 28. I'd love to see it at 35 to 40 lbs. Then again, as already stated, with its boost curve, you may as well run an HTA something.

well we finally finished my build, and hope to have a build thread following this week, but just last night we took the 5857 on a built 2.0 on e85 very close to its limits, we made 541.8whp @ 6799rpm and 466.4tq @ 5710 on a Mustang Dyno @ 40psi. hahaha.. we wanted to push it to the max just to see what it had. We thought the turbo would run out before anything, but believe it or not, we ran out of fuel (1450cc Blue Max inj., Full Blown Double pumper). Anyway, I have a full weekend to get the thread together. It has taken over a year to come to this point, but it was worth it.

How is that possible running out of fuel with 1,450 cc injectors and a double pumper at 541 whp mustang #'s that only converts to 600 whp .d.j or less..TQ seems rather low for e85 also what was the boost at??

Thats a question I'll have to ask Babi@Force-Fed Performance, who tuned it. Ethanol does take a bit more fuel as Im sure you know, so I'm sure its possible to run out. As for the MD Dyno, we dyno'd my car at National Speeds DJ just 3 weeks earlier and it read 13%-14% higher. Do you know many 5857's making an excess of 550WHP DJ? I have honestly been looking and haven't seen it. I am trying to scan the Dyno graphs and post tonight, just so everyone can see.

I think you are right. The highest reading one I can think of besides yours is the Ryan Gates time attack car which was on a Dynojet, not MD, ~560 hp on E85 and 33psi.
You did good!

560ish at 33psi is still very good. I believe I hit 530ish @ 35psi on MD, again on e85. What I've seen thus far is that the 5857 is still a nice turbo, but you gotta put this thing on kill mode. 93oct hit ~420whp @28psi... but the power didn't come one like I wanted or thought it would. But as soon as I put in e85 it was a rock solid 435whp at 28psi on base pull, but the power never fell off.. I also picked up 28tq.

Honestly that turbo is junk and a waste of money..As far as these dyno go there fairly to easy to adjust it to make it read ,also people keep the filtering on 60 to make it look smooth..I had my car on a mustang uncorrected with the same filtering and put it on a d.j on 0 smoothing and it looked like a polygraph test..

I personally only like dyno jets they basically all read the same .Still even of you did hit that on that dyno, you still should have fuel left.My friend made 700 whp on a dynojet with the same fuel system and still had a bit fuel left.
