Does anyone have any feedback on an aluminum rod engine that does circuit style HPDE/track days? Apparently GRP does not recommend aluminum rods for circuit racing engines. Thanks!

I am looking to build a 2.2 slr 4g63 for weekend fun and track day weekends. I have no qualms about the recommened service intervals. I've always been very attracted to a lightweight assembly for a fast revving motor.

If the connecting rod manufacturers says don't do it, why are you asking a bunch of randoms on the internet if you should do it?

Reading through this thread I dont see any rod failures that can be traced back to the aluminum rod failing. That's great news!
