Acree's MAP 2.4L FP Black Build
After talking with Shep, 5th gear synchros will last longer with the Evo IX 5th gear due to a decrease in the RPM drop from 4th to 5th. So I will be going with the Ultimate Ratio Gearset with ISF Treatment. Can't flippin wait...

Good luck with Shep. KevinD installed the Shep tranny in my car so hopefully it works out for. I'm not knocking Kevin here. I think the rebuild Shep did is junk. I've had a fifth gear grind ever since I bought the car with the tranny in it, and it wasn't even 5 months old. I've tried numerous things to try to fix it, but nothing has worked. Maybe the previous owner beat the hell out the tranny. Who knows, but there's a few threads on here with people having the same issue. Hope it works out for you. I know when I do a rebuild it won't be Shep.

I haven't had an issue with my shep tranny. And having installed dozens of his trannys, they do work excellent. They are not invincible though, and have seen the syncros break/go bad on a few of the really high hp cars.
The alternatives to shep are buschur and tre. I have only dealt with tre once personally and it was months and months before we got the tranny back, and it didn't even work right.

Shep Ultimate Ratio 5-speed transmission is installed and I've put about 300 miles on it. It's butter smooth and I love it. The car will be going back to Evo Dynamics in 3 weeks for some final touches and SD tune on E-85 and 93. Once I get the hail damage fixed, I'll get some pictures up with the final dyno graph.

I've had a Shep Ultimate ratio tranny for 30k and its been fine through 400, 460 and blowing up. Hoping it will be ok in my cars next iteration.
Small update. I slapped some new wheels and tires on the car and the fenders are getting rolled. I hope to stay within factory camber specs and still clear. We'll see!

I have also started tuning the car on 93 oct myself with KevinD's guidance. After I am happy cutting my teeth on MAF, I'll move to SD on 93, and then go for broke with SD on E85. We might go a little higher than 33psi if the car picks up good hp/lb.

those rims look sick dood! i have the same color evo, but i have a set of orange work emotion rims that will be going on it. i should be in dfw around mid may, and hopefully the car will be there late may, or sooner. gonna find out first hand what evoD offers
its a lot more common then you would be lead to believe reading stuff on evom (and maybe take it as a precaution on your own build... if your budget is tight, you shouldn't be shooting for 600+whp).
when someone posts huge HP numbers, says they are going to go run x.xxx time at the drag strip then disappears entirely, its usually because they had a failure.
another great excuse is they have a big hp cars, then they want to "take it down to change the setup". thats code for, something broke.
