Head gaskets (and most studs) are one time use only.

At 20 miles do you honestly feel that this motor is completely broken in? Additionally there could be something else array, please don't jump to conclusions here. Andrew, you have a PM sir.

It's def a good thing to learn. But at this point, someone who knows what they are doing should be doing this work. If it was parts that were failing i wouldn't mind, but it's all you. Yeah, blah blah blah, I don't have to read this, but it's def getting annoying. Just pay someone already and save your time and money!!!

Good luck, duder!

I've been neglecting the car for the past couple of weeks. I got the head back off last Tuesday. The PE head gasket had places on cylinder one and three where the fire ring actually came into the cylinder. There was an inch or so from each missing. This means that they broke off and when out through the turbo. So there's a concern.

KevinD from EvoDynamics came over and check for flatness of the block and head. There were a few rough spots on the head we had to lightly file down. He also checked the bore and everything came out perfect in all 4 cylinders, so I didn't over heat anything when I lost coolant.

I will be reinstalling the freeze plug later this week. Unfortunately I broke a bolt off in the turbo hot side taking the exhaust manifold off. It just seized up half way out. I will attempt to remove it with some heat and elbow grease. If that doesn't work, I'll have to take the hot side to the machine shop and get them to take care of it.

Everything going well, I'll try to start it this weekend.

Man, how weird. I was just thinking about whatever happened with the car today and then you post an update! Good luck with it this week. Looking forward to some good news.

Ahhh, but, that's how you learn

Make some mistakes, fix them and don't do it wrong again the next time
