Myne's hood dampers installed yesterday. I actually had major issues with fitment that took a couple of hours to resolve. I was finally able to dial them in and they work great!

Nope. The rods should be arriving today from Manley. MAP says a couple of days for completion. All the machine work has already been completed.

Now I just need to figure out if my old engine is worth the trouble of turning it into a coffee table with a glass top. Maybe some LEDs inside of it to shine out of the holes...

Check the first post of this thread. There's no one hole, but two!

MAP says the block is assembled and packaged for shipping. Head has been ported and just needs to be assembled. Hopefully everything will leave tomorrow! FP still has my turbo, and BR still has my fuel pump assembly.

After talking with Zeitronix, it appears my current model cannot display everything I want it to be able to display on the LCD. I need to send it in for an "upgrade."

So I will be doing this in the next week or so and wiring all of the correct sensors up.

Question for the EvoM gurus and those with built engines: how necessary is it to run an oil pressure gauge? Does the Evo have an oil pressure sensor stock? I know there's a low oil light, but is this low oil level, or low oil pressure?

First post updated.

Lol yes I've read the "apocalyptic" and dire warnings in that thread. I think for the most, it's a bunch of BS.

Doesn't really matter that much as I will be running E-85.

i'm no guru, but afaik the stock sensor is a low pressure light. it activates at about 5psi (??) This is below the intake manifold, on the gearbox side of the engine. (where the evo9 mivec oil feed comes from)

I'm replacing mine with a full scale sensor (0-150psi) zeitronix sensor, and setting up custom parameters with my Link G4 to display my oil pressure light at different points.

e.g. if oil pressure is supposed to be 100psi @ 4000rpm, it will turn on the oil pressure low warning light at 60psi etc etc

Well if you managed to miss the title of the thread, my signature, or the first post, the block is coming from MAP.

Block will be here on Wednesday along with all the remaining parts from MAP. The cams should be leaving ER this week, and the fuel pump should be leaving BR this week. This next weekend will be amazing.

Cams are on hold again from ER.

The block, head, and remaining components minus cams should be here tomorrow.

I want to express my gratitude to KevinD at Evolution Dynamics here in DFW. He was gracious enough to let me use some tools to modify my Mivec gear. Great guy, extremely knowledgeable, and always willing to help.

I picked up a Tap and Die set today so I can plug the EGR port on the head. I bought a 1/8" NPT pipe plug from O'Rielly's today, but I believe it's brass. I'm not sure that will be the best material for this application. I might have to bite the bullet and purchase one from Jeg's or Summit.

By the end of this weekend, I should have the long block fully assembled.

Quick question for you guys. When reassembling the trans and block back together, do I always need to replace the throwout bearing or any other components, or can I simply reuse everything?

While you have it apart a throwout bearing is a good idea. The springs on the clutch fork are a good idea as well.
