E85 is a minimum of 105 octane is normally closer to 111. Depends on what they cut it with and if it is 85 or E70. A few places out here sell E85 that is actually E98 as well.

Synapse BOV sucks from what I have been told. Forge is a good recirc'd one if you want to keep it recirc'd. Other than the IAT, I agree with Mikey where I didnt already comment in PMs.

There is no such thing as a good recirc valve...unless you use the leaky stock 9 bov and run less than 25ish psi.

I recommend SD with a TiAL.

I've tried lots of combinations with no success using recirc's. I had the synapse....still sucked.

ER Speed Density conversion + TiAL 50mm...cured all my problems.

Acree,

I love my TiAL Alpha Q (TiAl "Bong" recirc BOV)... This was installed before I decided to go SD and will eventually go with a TiAL VTA BOV. Might be a good option to go with a Tial QR Blow Off Valve - Recirculating since you can run as recirc now, then go VTA later as an option. This Tial QR Blow Off Valve - Recirculating wasn't an option when I did my 2.3L build.

A nice feature of the TiAL QR BOV is that you can swap bottom with the bottom of a Q BOV to make it a fully vent to atmosphere BOV.

I totally agree SD+Tial... However wasn't Freddie hands down in love with the synapse?

Me and a friend were talking about this a little while ago. If the minimum octane rating is 105oct and the pump says it contains at least 70% ethanol (e70), does that mean that e70 = 105octane?

E98 is MON of 117 and RON of 129.

I did a post/write up on the exact octane rating of E85 and its various blends awhile ago-
