I went ahead and nixed the oil squirters. My original thought was if the 4g63 comes with them, then the 4g64 would benefit. Also, the stock oil pan is going to be sufficient for my needs.

Instead, I opted for the Rev 2 Intake Manifold, Stage 3 head porting, and Exhaust Manifold porting. Should be money well spent.

Now I have to decide if I want the ER modified S2 cams.

Unless youre going for that "bone stock" look, then I suggest doing a fabbed/sheet metal intake manifold. While the word "huge restriction" may not really be the best word to describe a stock ported intake manifold on this setup (though its close), a quality intake manifold like the Magnus V5, AMS intake manifold, or Buschur's fabricated intake manifold will definitely be a better pair to the amount of air the 2.4/Black combo can move.

Get the cams and be done! Your decision to go with maperformance porting/polishing/ and heat coat, is the best way to go hands down.
Is it going to be a complete sleeper both exterior and interior also?

I want this thing to be completely stock appearing inside and out. The only thing I will be doing outside is a jdm rear and wheels. I'll be doing my own led headlights and tail lights, but that's a few months out. As far as the engine bay, I think it looks good stock. I want people to look around and pass right by.

Nice I dream of having a compltete stock appearing EVO but it's to late for me I've crossed that line a long time ago. Try going wingless so the cops pass on by to.

For me, there's something about the look of the Electric Blue with the wing on it. I think it severely takes away from the car. Even if it attracts unwanted attention, I'll be leaving mine.

I finally went out and bought an engine stand. I was able to separate the head and block today. My assumptions were confirmed. The tune had nothing to do with the engine failure. There's not a single sign of detonation on any of the pistons. The 3 remaining are in pristine condition. There does seem to be signs of valve float on the top of the destroyed piston, but there's not a single scar on the valves themselves.

I'm at a loss to explain this to be honest. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

MAP will be performing Stage 3 porting work on the head and I've told Aaron I want to buy a set of the modified S2 cams. I'm hoping for at least 600hp on E85.

And here's a picture of the bottom of the piston. Everything from the wrist pin down has disintegrated.

acree my piston looked exactly the same as yours. all the skirts smashed off, the valve indents from the piston spinning 90 degrees.
No detonation marks on any of the pistons/CC's
Where did your conrod break off? right at the base?

This is the same type of failure that JohnnyTSI had as well. Wrist pin pulled out of the piston and ejected the rod. I doubt the meth had anything to do with it, in his case he was on E85.

I blew my engine when it wasn't even on full power. travelling at 30mph in 3rd gear, chopping down the 2nd. Blipped on the throttle to rev match, released the clutch and POP.
I had changed a few things since my last tune, so i thought it might have been detonation. But the pistons and head are perfect.
We thought maybe the gudgeon pin seized in the piston. There is some scoring on the piston.

The engine had unknown km's. Probably 100k miles +.
FP Red on 23psi, approx 350whp.

I agree w/ JB, this is the like the third or fourth time I've seen this, and the conclusion has been the wrist pins. Quick question JB or OP did yours happen all of a sudden also? Meaning running fine one min and then attempted to do a little spirited driving and then bam !
