Acree's MAP 2.4L FP Black Build
No problem! If you're going to be spending a good chunk of time working on the car...I think you deserve some good food, good atmosphere, and good people to be around to wind down to. Plus Smike is going to be here. You can finally meet the guy that edits our posts and bans us all the time.
you tried seeing if it had spark? maybe and crank and cam sensor can do this see if its connected ,are you running maf or sd? when u tried to crank it.should of just let it run maf for right now to break it in,
After a 2.5 hours tonight, I had the head off the car thanks to KevinD's amazing recommendations... Easy as cake.

After cleaning the pistons off, it's obvious that one or both of the intake valves came in contact with the piston. There's scarring on the left indention. Take a look. This makes it obvious that the issues I'm experience are due to my inexperience/stupidity. Operator error is a b!tch.

The head is ready to go to Evolution Dynamics tomorrow to be inspected and have valves replaced if need be. I will go with Supertech stock size valves if any need to be replaced.

Depending on how long the machine shop takes, it will take me about 8 hours to get the head back on, the car back together, and ready to try it again.

On a side note, any one have any idea why there was a large amount of residue on the intake runners? I know there was probably a large amount of fuel sprayed due to the multiple times I tried to start the motor, but it bothers me that it gunked up.

The valves were never replaced. They were reused.
Thanks for the compliments. I dropped the head off at ED today and it will go to the machine shop tomorrow. I should know by the end of the day which valves and how many are bent.
Still no update from FP.

There was no visible damage to the stock valves and MAP said they checked out ok.
I will not be claying the motor since I am using GSC Beehives with Ti retainers, stock size valves, and the pistons I have were custom ordered from Wiseco to clear 12.1mm of lift. On top of that, it's very difficult to clay a Mivec motor. As soon as I get the head back, I will reassemble the block, torque the studs back down, and do a compression test. That will ensure everything is ok.

Damn dude that sucks. I wonder what it could have been? Hope you get it up and running soon so you can start your led mods to your cluster lol..I'm patiently waiting so one day you can do my cluster as well
Can't wait to see what kind of numbers your setup makes.

Today was full of good news.
1) FP is finished with my black. I will pick it up tomorrow.
2) The shop said my valves are all fine. No leaking. The head is in good shape.
3) Upgraded Zeitronix kit arrives today.
I believe the issue now boils down to a problem with the timing. I believe I might have had one or both of the cams off by one tooth. This would cause either the exhaust, intake, or all 4 valves to be open at TDC, relieving the compression causing a lack of ignition. This is also backed up by the fact that none of the cylinders had compression. It makes more sense for the problem to be systemic, in other words affecting all four cylinders instead of it being bent valves or bad piston rings. The chances off all four cylinders having issues at the same time is astronomically low. I'm going to bolt the head up without the cams and do a compression test. As long as I have good, even compression across all four cylinders, I'll know that was my problem. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble by performing the compression test before I took the head off, but oh well. Lesson learned.
I will be picking up the Black tomorrow from FP and taking it and the MAP o2 dump housing to ED tomorrow. I'm going to be messing around with porting in certain areas. Hopefully on Saturday, I can get everything reinstalled, double checked, and running.

u should still get some compression even its off a tooth , did you go sd conversion already? i was planing to run maf first then sd later, maybe the sd conversion might be problem for its not starting ,
