They are an added option. Chris made the point that plenty of 2.4's leave without them, but I want the added safeguard. I want this engine to last for 100k miles at 500+ ft/lbs. That's an incredible feat for a 2.4L motor. I'm trying to do the most I can to insure that happens.

I would never put oil squirters in my 2.4. The 4G64 crank doesn't have the oiling capabilities that the 4G63 crank does and taking away oil from the crank to cool a forged piston is not my 1st choice. last if you ask me. The 4G64 bottom end needs the oil!!! You should go with out the oil squirters, and get Wiseco HD pistons, get the Kiggly HLA to keep the extra oil out of the head and in the oil pan, then get the AMS oil pan so you have the extra 1.5 quarts of oil. Your pistons, if you get a good piston/design (aka Wiseco), will not collapse or deform due to not having oil squirters. Your bearings will go out at the 500tq range before anything else and you will need all the extra oiling that you can get. Get the HLA and AMS pan and call it a day.

If you have enough money you can do the squirters too, however I would first make sure you have the money for the AMS oil pan and HLA. At that point I don't believe the squirters would hurt, however not sure that they would really help anything either. If you want to get a good insight about squirters, give David a call and he will give you all the reasons in the world why they are not needed... However MAP and SBR install them... Every shop builds motors a little differently.

I can basically drop the squirters and pick up the oil pan for $100. It's not a bad deal. I'm just not sure that's the best option. And frankly, there aren't a lot of threads on the matter. I've searched.

We actually don't run oil squirters in our drag Evo or most of our builds, we just like to provide our customers with every option to make sure they get exactly what they're after
