FP BLack users question?
That's not that bad
. I'm so tired of all the stock frame haters out there. I don't think alot of people realoze how close a STOCK frame is to running 8s ON A STOCK manifold. What will all the Fp turbo haters say then? FP has been supporting the Mitsubishi high performance market for a while now. I will continue to support them as long as I own a Mitsubishi.

hello Binky, thanks for your reply...but i was reading in one of your threads that you face some problem of the turbo stud being a little long so you couldnt insert the nut when instaling the o2housing...how did you tackle that problem?
Edit** do you guys recommend an open dump housing on this turbo?
i had an open dump on my evo..but i didnt have it long enough to know if i liked it or not..??!!

I really like the Invidia o2 housing. There are two issues with it.
One being the bolt you were talking about. I shortened it with a band saw and then cleaned up the threads with a tap. It was just enough to be able to get the nut started. Make sure you do this with the turbo out of the car. It would be next to impossible to do it with it on.
The second part is the O2 housing relocates your front O2 sensor. You have to cut the O2 sensor wire and extend it about, 6-8 inches. You shouldn't solder the wires together because it will mess up the resistance values, you NEED to crimp the wires together. I then used heat shrink tubing and covered it up. You can't tell I did it, and it came out great.

BLKCarbonEvo:
You mentioned before 1050cc injectors will get me to 500-550whp, but a build could get me to 600+ with an FP Black. I'll be on straight 93 with no meth, what injectors do you think I can get that'll give me a little more room just in case someday.....1150s?

One last question BLKCarbonEVO haha...
I have the GSC S1s in my car right now with my FP Red and I noticed you have the GSC S2s in your car. Do you think the S2s work better with the Black?

Going from my HKS to These custom GSC cams we picked up 90hp. I was running HKS 272/280 combo and they are about the same "performance" an a S1. Just to give you an idea. However with larger cams you will have to upgrade your springs/retainers. The Black is a great turbo but it really needs a good cam to allow the turbo to breath. It gets choked in higher rpms. Also if you plan to build your motor and go to a 2.4 I will tell you that you will need a larger cam!
FP Black dyno, HKS 272/280 combo vs. Custom GSC Cams:

As you can see, I made a **** ton more power on 1/2psi less boost while I didn't lose any spool, and the cams enabled me to hold 3psi more at 7.3k and up! 25psi flat with no boost taper

I think you are losing lots of power with the S1s. I think at a min you should have S2s. I don't have S2s, I have a custom cam that Greg just made and I tested for the IX. They don't have a name yet but they are a mix match of the S2s and S3s... Pretty much the best of both. The cam spools like an S2 but makes the power of an S3.
