GSC S3 cam broke
I have a brand new set of gsc s3 cams justgot them from MAP. I installed them by the book and I heard a pop took the cam cap off on the intake side and the cam is broken in half. I really hope I can get this replaced if not i plan on sell the evo.

man mrtalon i helped you with information when you were building this new 2.4 motor dont tell me its ruined. you better post pics because the herd is coming that will not believe gsc cams could fail. some pics would be nice as well. i dont see this thread going well. I hope you dont sell the evo but if you brand new motor failed and is destroied because of this i can understand why dont want to go though another build again myself.

More details please, I have advised quite a few of my friends to switch to GSC S2, been meaning to swop out my HKS 272's with GSC's but the last two sets I got in were taken by friends to put in their cars...

post pics of your box and cam-card. Did you order the right cams for your lifters?
wonder how long and what kind of situation MAP stored them in. Did the starter break them? seems like if you lost your engine you would've said something. Did you call MAP? or Greg? before posting?
Personally i think this thread needs to be deleted until the op can support the said claim's against a huge supporter of the evo community and site sponsor.

you dont have to silence people just because something bad has happened.
He's just reporting on real life experience, and as everyone is replying, we need more info to work out what happened.
This is a forum, so that exact reason.
once more information has come to light, i'm sure MAP and GSC will come to the party and we'll get this sorted

Guys - there have been tons of cam failures from GSC and Cosworth....and then Kelford...They all supposedly use the same core...there was a hypothesis the cams were failing due to a MIVEC oil groove design / machining issue...
Clearly something is up with the aftermarket camshaft manufacturers as you never hear of an OEM cam breaking...
