Lightbulb Best BOV(s) please give your .02

This seems to be a never ending issue. I myself am using the HKS ssBOV, but going to switch. I don't want to keep buying the same damn thing over and over again, my pockets aren't that deep. I am sure alot of you would agree. So I thought it might be helpful to post a poll for everyone's benefit as well as mine.

Obviously, you can't list all the BOV's out there so I listed what seems to be most popular. If you are using something different that really works (not listed), please indulge us.

If I missed a BIG one let me know so I can add/delete one. Please feel free to elaborate on your choice (PRO vs. CONS).

Thanks.

Yes, just as soon as I figure out which one to go with. I was hoping this poll might help myself and others make the same decision. I was leaning towards the Forge. We'll see. I'll let you know.

Thanks

We used the TurboXS on our project vehicle and like it. No problems so far and running 23lbs of boost! We have them if you need one. Check out evoconnection.com/catalog.

Not everyone would change from stock just for the sound. I have learned through the grapevine the stock BOV is proned to leaking if you are planning on running higher boost due to the plastic construction. I ended up with the HKS myself cause a friend was selling it for alot less than a new one and heard it was a good BOV. Personally that damn whistling is driving me nuts, that's one of the reasons why I'm switching.

Anyways, there is no need for insulting anyone with your inmature comments. If you don't have anything constructive to add to the conversation don't say anything at all.

I'll let you know. I got a good deal on it so I'll return the favor to you. I have had an unstable idle at times along with the stuttering problem some have mentioned with light to moderate accelleration during normal driving conditions. I suppose I could mess with the adjustment screw to fix it, but like I said previously I don't care for the sound either. If you like that high pitched whoosh/whistle this is the BOV for you. It's very loud too, gets plenty of attention.

Comon guys, I know there are alot more of you out there with opinions on the subject. It would be great to hear from all the VENDORS out there too.

I was hoping this might be a central point for the BOV saga and help out anyone who is looking for one or changing from one to another, since there has been so much debate on the subject.

At least cast a vote.

I would also like to see the results of this thread, but the problem is 90% of the people are going to vote for the one they have which they bought because in their mind it was the best for one reason or another. So basically we won't get any real good technical answers because everyone who votes will vote just based on what they own and not neccessarily based on which one is truely the best.

And I also agree with whoever said above--unless you have validated data telling you that your BOV is leaking boost, it is a waist of money to buy an aftermarket one--unless of course you have bought all the power mods available and just want to add something else.

The best bang for the buck will be a 1g DSM BOV, followed by a Greddy Type S. The HKS SS is terrible, the RFL is a bit of a ricer valve. Tial's are very very good but don't open easy at less then 10psi.
