That would be a pretty bad mismatch of wheels. The 2871 is bad enough. The GTX3071R would be your best bet.

What is the difference between the GT3582 and the GTX3582? Is the GTX the HTA compressor wheel?

Thanks

Garrett's new billet wheel version. HTA while also a billet wheel refers to Forced Performance's line up of compressor wheel upgrades.

Are these TS turbine housings a Garrett item or are they something ATP gets for them ?

I'm not so sure Garrett would do a GTX 71.1mm compressor for the GT2871R series , they already have too much compressor in the 56 comp trim version .

I think Garrett is going to run out of cheap solutions once the GTX compressors become mainstream . Really the gap is a bit big between the GT28 NS111 turbine and the GT30 UHP turbine .
For reasons only they know they don't want to use the 60mm (GT30 sized) version of the NS111 9 bladed turbine in their production turbos . It is used in competition spec TR30R turbochargers and would be a great asset in some GT30 based turbos .

Cmon Garrett we WANT that 60mm NS111 turbine for power with response ...

Garrett needs to do a GTX28XXR. If they could manage 45-47 lb/min and an exducer under 65mm, it would be pretty great for the auto-x guys. That GT28 turbine wheel owns. I had a GT2871R and it was pretty wicked. It might be a mismatch, but it still worked well with 25 psi by 3500RPM on a stock block 2.0L. My stock IX turbo doesn't even do that up here.

I could care less about stock frame turbos, otherwise I would get the FP White with the TME titanium turbine wheel. It is off topic, I was just commenting on discopotatoes post.

As for this topic, I don't see how this is a "stock frame" turbo though. At least the FP, HKS and Tomie turbochargers all retain a stock like look despite having non-OEM housings. This thing just has the stock turbine housing flanges and NOTHING else. I don't think these would qualify as "stock appearing."

Yeah, I was wondering this also. Since I run the stock appearing turbo list, I was going to setup a survey and see what everyone says...
