I need to look into the bearing clearances to see which weight oil I will need to use for after the break-in

i currently have ~11k on my 2.3L motor. This motor uses next to NO oil. The oil level is always near the top notch of the dip stick every 3k miles!

my stock 2.0L used ~1/2-3/4 qt every oil change (3k miles), bottom notch on the dip stick.
^^^^^^^THIS.

Just checking! lol Engine builders know the clearances of the bearing and what oil you should use. Different shops do break in differently though.

Synthetic is perfectly fis to break in an engine, with 10W40 or 20W50 high zinc and high phos oil,,, or get yourself some VR1 break her in cheap,,,

I told him a few posts above that the RD 15w50 would be good. motor break-in you can really use whatever. However, the RD would be nice after break-in! BACK UP OFF MY NADS!!!

apagan, and we discussed previously that the RD 15W-50 would be a good choice for when the motor is switched over to E98, correct?

correct any alchohol based fuel used in a car should be using an oil that holds up to it,, its just good insurance since you will have peace that the oil is always lubricating,,,, now if you are dropping your oil every few miles or races than you may opt for a cheaper oil like VR1

Andy, would you recommend the RD 15-50 or the Premium 20-50 for daily driving on 93/E85?

Ok thank you! I am a clean oil freak most of the time and was planning on changing the oil every 2000 miles and/or after every race. I'll roll with the RD 15W-50 then since I'm quite nervous about the fuel dilution running E98
