Wierd clutch behavior, please help.

Hi guys

Installed ACT 6 puck disc 1,000 miles ago. Clutch is harsh as I was expecting. When I drive the car cold it shifts normal. When I give it a hard pull it gets really harsh. Not only when taking off from a stop, but when actually going at normal driving speeds. If I'm cruising and I down shift it feels really harsh as the clutch engages/I release the pedal. I drive a couple of miles more and instead of getting harsher it shifts like butter. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance

I feel this too and I have a Competition Clutch Stage 4. I'm guessing it's just because of the fact that it is a 6 puck clutch and not as smooth as the other ones. It grabs great..just not necessarily smooth all the time.

For some clarity-- so is the transmission shifting harder or is the clutch engaging harsher. You said shifts like butter--so I am thinking trans--then you take about harsh engagement so I am thinking clutch-- If it harsh engagement thats bothing you, you should have likely gone with the sprung hub--that would have provided a smoother engagement--solid hubs have no give, its all grip and you are feeling it.
