thanks for the responses guys... here's what happened:

took to the dealer and told em what was goin on. they tell me to leave it for a couple of hours so they can look at it. when i first drop it off... two mechanics come and open the hood. they look in the engine bay for about 35 seconds, then one mechanic says... 'no mods, go ahead and pull the code.'

they take it into the garage, and i leave with my friends. when i go to pickup the car, they told me the 'ecu threw a false code' and they just reset it. then they re-ran a diagnostic, and there were no errors.

looks like everything was ok. i dunno why the ecu would do that though. (maybe the TT?)

Well that's great, you had NO IDEA WHAT THE ERROR WAS. Next time goto Autozone or some place like that and they will pull the code for free.

no.. they didn't charge me anything. I just had to leave my car with them for about 4 hrs.

Ok.. so 1 week later, i get gas at Mobile gas station, and a few hrs later, i get another CEL! wtf?!! so I double check my gascap, and it is tight.. 4 clicks or so... and the light is still on.

For some reason I have a feeling its the gas... so i just drive it as usual. When the time comes to get gas, I go to Shell... and once i filled it up, the CEL disappeared!

WEIRD. btw.. i have crappy 91 octane here in california. booo..

Like someone else said, go to Autozone and they can tell you exactly what it is. Probably a random misfire. My car was bone stock throwing this code at about 5k miles(gas cap was tight). Pulled the battery terminal and reset it, now have 16k and have not seen it since even with my Turbo Back. I think it has alot to do with where you get your gas, stick to name brand fuel and you should be OK. Places like AM PM and other crappy convience stores/gas stations get the ****ty stuff. 91 octane or not. Try to stick with Shell, Exxon or Sunoco.

Autozone isn't doing CEL code pulling for free anymore. At least the one here in Oceanside. I tried to get it done and they said they no longer will pull codes.

I have been getting the same SES light. Drives me nuts. Last night on the freeway I heard what sounded like a possible backfire then it was on. Goes off after awhile. I just hope this stops or they figure out what they can do to make it stop. Mitsu pulled the code and said Random engine misfire...
