Yeah it sucks pretty bad, but its not just the exhaust that hurts me, the Cozzie M3 cams are too. To have the car idle smooth it idles around 1100rpm, stock is like 750 so it doesn't pass smog at idle. Too much overlap in the cam pahsing I guess.

Its crazy that they sweat my car for emissions but 20 miles from my house is the Mexico boarder and they burn tires still. But thats ok, I guess that burnt tire crap doesn't cross international boarders. Geeze, what a joke.

Great upgrade Ferno. quite a bit pricier than swapping a stock exhaust though

I'm going with an HFC inline with the 2 Magnaflow and Evo2 resinator. I hate the smell it will help and hope for a bit less noise.
In cabin isn't soo bad right now...

Im sill puzzled how a Motor Mount can cause more noise for an exhaust system. I can understand it causing "vibrations" but not "noise". I wonder if people are confusing the two?

I do have the Beatrush skateboard wheel for a transmission mount (front mount) and it does create allot of vibrations. It does help with the rear end slap on less than perfect shifts, but like the noisy exhaust, the vibration above 4000 rpm is getting hideous.

On the flip side, I can say my hands get a free massage as I drive

I didn't think about huge cams lol. 2 ft long metal cats for you guys then.

Why do they burn tires?

Thanks!

There were too many things about my car that made it not a great street car for me. The new whip is much more street. It's much slower, much softer, much quieter. and gets ridiculous fuel mileage.

I'm thinking of getting it tuned with the stock CBE on it and see if I can reach my mid-300's whp goal. If I can hit ~330whp without killing the fuel mileage I'll be satisfied.

Dan Bajalis - stock CBE, no cat, downpipe, cams, 100 octane. 11.6x at 117: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/dr...imal-mods.html

Indy Evo - stock CBE, slicks, cat, drop-in filter, unleaded race gas, 11.6x at 116: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...tune-11-s.html

Mad driving in each case.

Tom

Yeah, I think I saw some guy pushing over 500whp with the stock CBE. Crazy.

I'm not so sure how much power it would take to trap 117 with an Evo... but it sounds very close to 500.

No doubt about mad driving involved. I'll check those threads, thanks!

There have been a lot of suggestions for this, but I have to be honest, I think it is louder than the Tanabe Medalion that steps down. I'd encourage anyone who reads this thread and considers this exhaust to hear one before buying.

I have a feeling you didn't read the thread based on your suggestion, as I have switched cars. Nevertheless, thanks for the input. For now, I'm rolling stock quiet.

This is pretty good to know because after being stuck in traffic for nearly an hour and a half this evening smelling every single exhaust fume from my car, I so wanted to get home and grab my OEM exhaust and run to the nearest shop to have it installed. I'll probably throw it back on this weekend just to see how much of a difference it will make overall (quietness, fume free, & performance). My exhaust is so raspy now with or without the silencer and I'm tired of people saying, "man your car is running rich" or "man you must have a giant exhaust leak" because of the smell of my car at idle thanks to my Cams and Catless Exhaust. I have also considered throwing my HKS 272's back in to smooth things out a bit

You can't see but it's straight through with some weird baffle tube thing and perforated rear section. hahah sorry I can't really explain or take good pictures. It is loud outside the car but the sound is sent straight back its cool. I definitely need another muffler so I can stop waking people up in the morning

Off Topic a bit, but do you reset your trip meter every time you fill up with gas? In the video from the inside of your car your trip meter reads 320 miles and your gas light isn't even on. What kind of gas mileage are you getting if you don't mind me asking if that is an accurate reading? Even when my car was stock I could only get about 280-290 miles on a full tank of gas (93 octane) and by then my fuel light was burning.

I stopped taking note of my gas mileage long ago

But I did manage 310 out of one tank when she was still all stock ( Elevation 4200 ft ,91 octane)

But yeah I get about 280 a tank if I'm behaving

Gotcha...I probably should stop keeping track with my MPG's, especially since the cost of gas is steadily on the rise. Thanks anyway
