I had a dream about an exhaust leak last night, and I sold that car a week ago. No joke, the saga gave me nightmares.

I've already ordered my bluetooth head-unit to replace my peeling stocker, and I'm not about to make my car any louder for the time being. Enjoying the sounds of silence!
Yeah, my mods are quite extensive and have fairly large cams. Looking to tone it down a bit. Thanks for your effort and info. Enjoy the new car!

I'm going to toss on an inline 6 inch sometime next month to see the difference. I kinda want it loud but I don't at the same time lol.

can you get a picture of the internal baffle?

hand sketch?

I have also considered that exhaust as well.

is the muffler with the light inside of it the same muffler as in this picture?

Not a bad drawing!

I have personally seen this ebay muffler and for the money, its a great deal. My only worries is that it wouldn't flow as well as the Magnaflow due to the tube baffling. Its hard to explain but its basically one large 4" tube flowing into a smaller 3" tube with no transition. If I got it, I was actually thinking of taking it somewhere and having it flowed against a Magnaflow. But this muffler also sounds like its loud. I wonder if you could cut a hole in the top, add stainless packing material for noise control and weld it back up?

My "muffler guy" told me that the Borla is quieter than the Magnaflow. I asked him if it necked down, he said it did very slightly. I have no data on how much it actually necks down. If a local shop has one in stock I guess you could do the cardboard measuring method.

16.No Muffler, 91db at idle, 103db at 2,000 rpm, MAX. (120+db).

The Hooker Maxflow made the best power while still being very quiet at idle/2000rpm, but nice and loud at WOT. The Bassani Real Street also made nice power without being too loud. Anybody have any feedback on these mufflers?

Good find. I wish they would also test the noise inside the cabin because that ebay is super loud outside and OK inside. Doesn't drone very much on the freeway.

For me I think I am just gong back to OEM. Not sure about you folks, but here in CA the laws are just getting too picky. Instead of toying around with different ways to beat the Po Po.

Not only do I have to deal with smog issues, which means MUST be OEM from the Cat forward which means my downpipe and O2 housing have to go by by, then they are testing DB's now too. So the BR 3" exhaust has to go.

Not sure about you guys, but after 8 yrs of argueing and paying fines, I am burnt out on it. So I am seriously considering just going OEM.

I feel for you guys with all the turbo upgrades and crazy exhaust manifolds and such. They would NEVER pass over here where I am. Taking all that stuff off and on and re tuning all the time to pass tech, then put it all back?? Sucks man.

lame.

I pass emissions easily ( Utah) and I have a 100 cell Metal cat that works *******.

But my brother just got a ticket for loud exhaust so I figure I'm next on the list lol.

No need to re-tune, they never go into open loop

Lol agree with Ferno. As simple as it was, you made some serious effort in really checking the internals of your muffler.

But that is a rather small section of perforated tubing.

What emissions? I don't need to worry about it. I feel for you guys in Cali!

Thanks for trying to show the guts of that muffler b16a2delsol!
