I'm going to attempt to rebuild the extra one I have. I don't have my IX anymore so I am also going to rig something up to test that it meets the pressure requirement. I'll keep you updated.

After all this time I finally got the replacement pump put on and I am working. Bleeding the unit was a pita but my buddy fixed it up and now everything is peachy. Now the real question is why are so many of these pumps failing with low miles (40K)!!!!

Found some links that are for the AYC.

Think I'll try to take mine apart this summer. But first i need to change my timing belt and a full brake job too.

EDIT: Just found this pic in the how too section.

I might move my pump to the trunk as well, this would save an expensive pump from the harsh elements of Western NY.

From what I understand, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, if the pump fails you still have the regular function of an LSD in the center diff. It just won't lock up when the ECU calls for it, ex. when accelerating in a straight line. Basically it will be like an Evo VIII.
Can this be confirmed ^^^

If the acd pump is shot, will the TC be ok?

me along with my friend's mechanic. approx 1k miles, but i don't drive the car much. runs just as good as new.

pictures of how to do it are within this thread. one small part is missing though, you've got to disassemble and clean the valve too, but you can just pour gas into it or maybe wd40 to make it clean, i guess it just doesn't matter much.

So, was there any parts that you had to replace and had to buy or just basically cleaned it out and re-bled the system and started working? How long did it take you guys and are there any special tools needed to disassemble it? Thanks

justastockevo.... sorry just read your post #36 and #39. so if fault code 82 is what im getting most likely my pump is corroded or i wont know until i take it apart? I want my pump to work, i gotta plan this out though. hopefully it can be fixed without taking it to the dealer or buying a new pump.
