Project FP Black DBB
i think you'll enjoy that turbo quite a bit.. its badass. feel free to email me if you have questions about mods or have a tech question.
appreciate it, was going to ask you about the external wastegate set up, but its a lil too late for that.. i already kno that u'll continue to hook me up w/ good and safe tunes.. so that i can keep the "family" car in good working order...
btw cant wait to see what comes of this ballbearing black... i was really on the fence about going w/ something else...but the black on pump gas seemed the way to go for 500ish hp
lol hey, well thats what i call it.. still wont get the girls like a ferrari, but i dont think the wife would like that anyways..besides even out here in kentucky... where most people dont kno what an evo is.. they still cant help but to stare

For me personally the FP Black is not an option due to it being a journal bearing setup and most people running it in excess of 30psi. This is more about my concerns as it relates to longevity and issues I have seen reported of premature failure. Some people argue its an oil sensitivity issue, but I suspect the larger wheels coupled with a bearing system not designed to take those thrust loads and shaft speeds is the real culprit.
If FP or somone could offer a sub $2.5K BB option I think it would be a real winner. I look forward to seeing the results.

The whole reaosn you probably haven't seen a BB upgrade from some of the current popular stock frame turbo's has probably been cost.
Who wants to make something they aren't sure people are going to buy. HKS came out with the first BB stock frame turbo and Owen's offering it as an upgrade now...........
Don't be surprised if the next big thing from FP, CBRD and MAP is a BB upgrade option.

I just spoke with owens they will only do the bb upgrade to a new fp turbo not used. This is where I believe map can shine if they offer a dbb option for their new turbo setup as fp currently does not and it will not require send a new turbo out to get re machined for even more cost on top of the new turbo vs just having it as an option when purchasing your turbo new.
