Which seal is leaking?

Hey guys. My transmission has a very small leak but its hard to pinpoint where it is coming from even after cleaning it and driving it for a couple of miles. The leak is not bad but it does leave maybe a quarter size spot on the driveway. It is around where the trans mates with the tcase and its definetely gear oil. I figure i post first then to start taking the drivetrain apart and then have the car sit. I included a pic its where those bottom two bolts are where it is leaking from. TIA

There is a little o-ring between the t-case and transmission. Most likely its that little o-ring gasket that is leaking.

There are actually two o-rings, but with a leak that small, it is most likely the small o-ring.

at least from the looks of it i only have to remove the tcase and leave the trans in. i might as well just replace the two but do i really have to drain all the fluids out? is there anyway i can "reuse" the old fluid if i drain it into a clean container and put it back in. its only 1500mi old

Yes you have to drain both fluids.

You could reuse the oil if you drain in into a clean bucket. I know it isnt cheap but I would just go with new fluids for the piece of mind. I was in the same boat as you before.

Yeah, no need to remove the transmission. Just unbolt the transfer case and move it towards the passenger side.
