what intercooler is good for me

Hey guys I have a evo 8 and it has a few mods done to it, but I'm not tryin to do crazy mods on it. I'm wanting to do another intercooler but I'm not sure how big to go or brand and such..cuz I've read that certain intercoolrd are good for certain setups depending on how much power u have.lol I couldn't find a thread on this, if there is one could u guide me there? Lol thanks

Don't wanna be a ***** man but there is no way in hell you can tell us you cannot find FMIC info on this site. Topics been beat to death then back to life again.

ETS, Buschur, AMS, CBRD are the top names to consider. After that size depends on mod goals

how much power you want and what kind of turbo you want eventually? those 2 questions will dictate, if your gonna end up wantin a 3", 3.5" or a 4" intercooler, a 3" typically will be good up to about 400 then can start heatsoaking, a 3.5 will be good to 500 ish, and a 4" will be overkill unless your over 500...so from there, you should figure youll proll want piping as well, which then you gotta figure out if you want a mini battery or relocate your stocker, that way you can run some companies short route pipe for quicker spool up... but ETS, BUSCHUR, AMS, OR NISEI, those companies look to those and pick. good luck.

He is from Missouri, it is the SHOW me state. OP it would be best to list your mods. Light bolt on mods typically the oem is sufficient.

An intercooler is just as important on a stock turbo as a big build-

a small stock housing turbo will actually blow ALOT of heat compared to say a GT35R because its pushing out of its efficiency range when you up the boost-

also-

Dont think of an intercooler as a PERFORMANCE gaining mod- its the increase in efficiency coupled with the ability to run more boost, and changes in tuning that really allow it to gain power-

cheers
