One more thought on this subject - - - - ANY one getting a through the mail flash - the idea is to make your car smoother, faster, "feel" better and run a bit leaner - - - Its NOT going to be perfect through the mail - - when we custom tune thyere is always a lot of work to dial it in perfectly on an individual car - the point is the mail tune is a LOT better than stock

Thanks everyone involved....I feel better about this now.

Maybe if 10.8 10.9 could be done throughout, I might mail it back in? A tune in person would be ideal, but might not happen.

When you tune in person on a dyno, what numbers do you want to be at, and not go over?

Thanks again .......... maybe this will be useful others as well?
Sorry if I was a pain in your *** Al.

Mos Def. My Vishnu exhaust looks worse than that with no engine management at all.

Like the others said. It just looks worse than it was with your shiny tip. Your A/F chart looks pretty damn safe to me. Get a custom tune with Al to lean it out a bit more and you will pick up some HP and have less of a pollution problem.

On a custom tune - I tune them between 10.9 and 11.1 / 1 on my motec wideband

With the through the mail flashes I shoot for 10.6 - 10.8 /a as the target with 92 octane - - yours looks OK excpet on the very top end its seems a little rich which is OK

What would alarm me is seeing a 12.0 / 1 a/f on a pump gas car - (as we have seen with other tuners) - this would be not only out of range - BUT DANGEROUS and detonating on pump ga sand riding the knock sensor.

The reason why we shoot on the richer side is so we can avoid the ocassional car that would run too lean. Basically 90 % of the through the mail cars will be a bit too lean so that the 10% of the lean running cars will still be rich enough - if that makes any sense

Its not ideal - but we have been able to get a lot smoother power band, a lot better spool up and top end power and great "feel" while riasing the peak power by 15 - 20 whp - ALL while keeping the a/f in TOTALY SAFE levels and maintaining very good long term durability - this is our mission

WE ARE NOT about trying to squeeze out an extra 3 - 5 whp at the expense of riding the knock sensor and having an rough power band and unsafe tune

silvrevo......the photo of your exhaust tip looks pretty normal to me. In fact I would say that my stock EVO might be a little dirtier.

Allen,
Sounds good
Now if anyone else has a question about a black exhaust tip, you can point them to this nice long thread.

I will keep an eye opened if your in my area for a dynotune.

Thanks.
