APS bov is very good. I have it on both of my evos since 2003 and it's working great. No leak up to 33 psi on my gt35r.

OH MY GOD CHAD!!! I was having the strangest issues.... I would go super rich on clutch depress. My idle was going crazy. The car was jerky as all hell. And we just couldn't figure out why. One statement for ya..... AP blowoff valve~!~~!

Switched it out for an APS..... everything, EVERY problem that I was having is gone!! No more rich, no more dying, no more herky jerky gears. DONE. The car is running like it's brand new.

So yes, check check check you valve's, they can cause more issues than you could EVER imagine.

I FINALLY found this by searching for the vibrant part number for the synchronic DV001A.005: 16505A .

Ok, so what I'm picking up here.

a: DV can make a big difference in tuning/drivability especially when you're boosting significantly higher than stock, the stock DV is NOT the be-all, end-all many people seem to think it is.

b: If you can't find the APS get the Synapse Synchronic DV001A.005/Vibrant Synchronic 16505A.

Thanks again to Chad who keeps coming through for me in my quest to have a badass DD in spite of my general car ignorance.

I have the greddy type s (real one)on my car and pressure tested up to 30psi and it DOES NOT leak! I also have a 35r making 450whp+ and no problems. I was considering getting a tial but this valve has been good to me and partial driving is also good very smooth.

In my experience, metal BOV leaked at 27 psi. I realized this when I was trying to hit my 30 psi target.

I swapped in my greddy type s with single spring mod. First pull I did hit 34 psi. I had screwed in the adjustment screw to allow maybe 4-5mm travel. Part throttle and low boost were just like stock. Never any surging on throttle lift.

I have been using Greddy type S valves for 10 years. I will make a separate thread about them. They are really good and have a special characteristic that I havent found in other valves.

hint: they spool turbo fast

Using single spring mod or any preload and ref line?

I bought two defunct ones to make a good one. def think the type s is a great design, similar to oem and fully adjustable
