Walbro 400LPH intank pump ? Anyone got any info
Even if you ate correct that Dave is referring to his mustang dyno, the numbers still don't add up. As stated numerous times in the past, Dave's dyno reads 13% lower then a dynojet. If we take 500 and subtract 13%, we are left with 435whp on his mustang dyno. That still doesn't explain where the 350whp figure is coming from. Mind you this is still at 70% idc so there's still a little more room for power as well.
The whole 13% thing bugs the crap out of me. No two dynojets and no two mustangs are the same. It might be a good rule of thumb, but not difinitive. But in all honesty, why is it such a big deal? Instead of arguing just buy the pump and hanger and go for it. If you make it work, great. If not, well at least you tried and "thought for yourself"...
I'm not arguing in the least. All I have done here is have a civil discussion of ideas in regards to the topic of this thread. This is a public forum for the Evo. Isn't that the point of this forum?

If you wish to suggest the possibility of a 5-10whp discrepancy between dynojets that's reasonable, but 85whp discrepancies? That's grasping for straws.

If I had an Evo X, I would call ETS.... they have the fastest Evo X in the World after all. They would be my first source for Evo X fuel pump information.

I know your not arguing, I am not either. I am not 12, I am not going to get butthurt over a discussion on the internet. I didn't say 85 whp discrepencies either though. However, that does not disprove the possibility of a high reading dynojet (or VDJ that mellon uses iirc) and Dave's pretty low reading mustang, which could bring those numbers into a much closer reality. Also, the numbers that both vendors are advertising is not a definitive number, more of a guideline. Neither of them are magicians and can calculate what weather would do to those number at any given time.

since I saw my name mentioned here. You can run a single walbro up to 500awhp on e85 (dynojet numbers) BUT the fuel pressure is low so you wind up with a rich spot at high rpm in the fuel map to compensate. That can cause a situation where you're rich on shifts that may not be easy to tune out. Our suggestion for anyone going to 500awhp is bite the bullet and get the Buschur twin pump. This will ensure that you have adequate and consistent fuel pressure throughout the RPM range. It also gives you room for growth.
going single walbro and huge injector is the el cheapo way to do it but it isn't our first choice. if you have the budget, go twin pump for best results.
for what it's worth we've had a few customers try the DW 300lph and we weren't impressed, I have one trying the Aeromotive 340 with a hotwire kit and that might be better. At least it will fit into the stock location.

As I said, I don't find that the Walbro's are noisy, I don't have a solution.
The twin modded Walbro's in our kit will supply more than enough fuel for you Dan, my car is on E98, higher requirements than E85 and I have a TON of room left.
Ryu, your numbers in your last post aren't right still.......you are mixing gasoline and E85 up in it. 500-13%+435 but that is gasoline power levels. So now 435-let's just say 20% and you are at 348.
I did type the wrong amount before, sorry, it's not 30% it is 20%. If I tune a car on pump gas and then switch it to E85 I can simply highlight the fuel map (stand alone) and add 20% to the fuel map and be nearly dead nuts on. So considering that, on our dyno a single Walbro (new, not worn out) is good for close to 500 whp. By then it is falling off on pressure already if you log fuel pressure. Take 20% away and you are left with 400 whp on our dyno here. Thinking of cars in the past, that is pretty accurate to what I see.

Its almost comical to watch Ryu argue with Dave about something he has about .001% of the experience on that dave has.. Im choking here laughing honestly.. This is the same guy that will ask me 4000 of the most basic questions but is going to argue with Dave about something dave clearly knows more about than 99% of the people on here..
IIRC on our dyno we cannot safely get 500WHP on E85 out of a single walbro w/1200cc.. id have to verify with derek to be 100%..

Thanks for the input Mellon.
That is something that has to be taken into effect and some of these guys aren't getting it.
First as pressure goes up the flow/volume decreases. If you actually LOG the fuel pressure instead of saying, "A single pump is good for XXX" you know that that single pump you THINK is working is actually dropping fuel pressure. When the fuel pressure drops you have to ramp up the injector duty cycle to compensate and it doesn't work as well.
I hate to bring AMS's kit into this but back when it was the only choice Curt had one in his car, he ran out of fuel, I think before 600 whp here. I suggested we just pull the single pump out of the tank and put one of our modded pumps in, we did it and the AFR's when from 13.x's to 10's:1. Huge change. You have to keep the fuel pressure stable with boost.

Mike, sadly the argument didn't need to take place. I am all for this pump the topic is about, simply put, it doesn't fit and it's not feasible to make it fit. Throw it in an EVOX though and then you have a good solution.
Hey everyone, can we please keep the arguing to a minimum and base this conversation on evidence / numbers? Please keep the insults to yourself as well (this is everyone). This is a great discussion, really don't want to delete posts.
