exedy triple issue i think?

I just took the car out getting it ready for the track and was beating on it pretty bad and doing 1st gear rolls spinning etc.. just testing boost levels per each gear etc and now right when i got home at the corner it did this loud HOWL noise then the car lunged forward like the clutch completely ignored me slipping it..

is this because i have the clutch fork stopper dead against the fork and its not disengaging right?

clutch has 500 miles on it.

Tom

Sounds like the clutch got a bit warm. Usually when that happens, it becomes a bit more "grabby".

That would be my guess as well ^ Make sure the stopper is adjusted properly and is not keeping the clutch from full disengagement. Did you do the 4 wheels in the air, rev up test to make sure its disengaging?

i didnt do the test with it off the ground this time, i just did the jacks transmission way where you let the pedal out so far until it blocks the slave from being pushed in then adjust so u can push slave in.

this was after 50 hard pulls 1,2,3,4 mostly 3rd and 4th tho.. i never had my exedy twin do this before and i used to beat the crap out of that also.. does this mean the triple heats up quicker then the twin?

also i just checked the fork stop its not hitting like ithough its about 3 credit cards away from the stop unless it got cooled down and adjusted itself off?

thanks for the help guys..

update: you guys were right.. it just got hot. now it doesn't do it anymore. I found a way to avoid it also. dont rev up to high to take off when its warm or it does it. when i just feathered the gas it never did it even hot.

just beware that if it becomes really "grabby" all the time, it's probably because the plates have warped and the contact patch of the clutch disc to floater plates has reduced.
