Cams becoming a bottle neck?

I have a set of Kelford 272’s on my IX. I have seen some posts regarding people upgrading to larger cams from the Kelford’s. My car currently makes around 560whp on a dynojet and from the plot It is not showing that they are a bottle neck at that point. This is on a built 2.0. Is there any data out there that shows where this point shows itself? Are they too small for 6262 or the new 6266 size turbos? I’m planning on stroking the motor and upgrading the turbo this winter. I have a goal of somewhere around 650+ to low 700whp.

change the cams when you go with the bigger motor and turbo. displacement eats up duration.

I am assuming that your built motor includes a ported cylinder head, right?

The turbo was an EF4, I think Chris @ MAP posted the dyno chart in the MAP turbo results thread.

Guy I know went 9.90's and made 700+whp with the kelfords. Before that he had Comp 280's and with just that swap, he gained an extra 3/10ths when he was running in the low 10's.

Dunno if that helps at all.

Good information. Do you remember if they were the kelfords 272's or 280's?
