I got a call from my Subaru dealer today. They say if I want the STi on June 1st, I have to pay $5000 over the sticker. Glad I got the EVO.

Hey IS2000, do u live in the CSUN area?? I live in northridge (i have a reg OZ lancer tho), however i have yet to see an evo roamin the streets, only at the dealer in Van Nuys, since i work out there....where do u live??
I live in North Hollywood, but I went to get my boost gauge at a shop near CSUN. Maybe we should have a meet.
oh... and I got my EVO from the dealer in Van Nuys. First they wanted $4000 over the MSRP, but I told them I talked to the fleet manager and he said no markup for his cars.

The question is... since my car had 220 miles, will that do any harm to the motor?
Wow how are there so many Evo's in LA area, I live here and I had to go to San Diego to see one haha. Though recently I saw a blue Evo in Torrance....
Hijacking aside, moral of that story is to make sure all cars are stopped before you make that left turn, somtimes it's better not to take those turn like a bat outta hell ;D

The car shoould be fine you are so lucky

I floored my MR2 right after I took off from the dealership.
first 500 to 1000 mile just don't keep driving at constant speed.
In my opinion, I occationally rev to red line to let the engine get use to it.
after 1000 miles you can do more rev. your car will be more happy when you rev it up

She already slowed down, but then suddenly floored her car. I hate CA drivers.

r u Mark_is300 from s2ki.com?
Mark_is300" I almost lost my EVO today when a lady decided to ran a red light (reminds me of my 1st S2K). But 19psi of boost protected me and my EVO. "
u seem like e same person?

Hard test drives during break-in?
Hey everyone. I'm wondering is anyone else has been able to thrash an Evo in a test drive like I have. I went to Colonial Mitsubishi in Danbury, and took a black Evo for a test drive (it had 8 miles on the odometer).
The first thing I did out of the dealership lot was a 0-70 sprint, red lining every gear and shifting as fast as I could without powershifting. The salesman was egging me on, telling me to "stuff it" and "really get into it".
Now, I knew I wasn't going to be buying that particular Evo on that day, so I didn't mind thrashing it if he didn't mind letting me. One thing I am worried about is when I finally do buy an Evo, who else has been driving the **** out of it before I pick it up?
I'm wondering what everyone else's experiences are on test drives and such. When I buy mine, I'm going to special order it and stipulate that no test drives should be given in it before I take delivery. Break in is very important on any car, and I'm thinking on this car it's even more important, considering the levels of performance it's capable of.

The employees at the dealer I bought mine at thrashed their evo's before they sold them, a friend of mine works there and told me what they all did to them. Not to worry because if anything happens to mine Ill jsut tell them next time their employees souldn't abuse new cars, and they go ahead and fix the problem at their expense. If they have a problem with that it's off to court we go with their own employee testifying against them... LOL
