Question What all is going on in here?

What is everything you think is going on here?
I think it's got a lifter tick, and a bad rod or main bearing knock. But I am not 100% sure, any input would help.

Could this be fixed for less than $1000 maybe?

Just ignore me talking, someone was speaking to me while I was filming.

def not a lifter tick, and really doubt it will be less than $1k to fix. that is def a rod and i wouldnt drive it anymore until its fixed or it will cause alot more damage.

drain the oil and look for metal particles. that will confirm its bearing material. and if its time for a rebuild you should just go ahead and throw some forged rods and pistons in if it doesnt already have them

that's rod knock most likely.. don't keep running the car.. you'll destroy the cams, etc if you let the shavings get through the entire engine.

turbos most likely already gone.. so is the oil cooler.. drain the oil and look for gold shavings, if you see them then you need to rebuild your engine.

Ouch...definitely sounds like rod knock...drain your oil & cut your oil filter apart...see whats in there. Maybe drop the pan as well, see what the damage is....Good luck!

no denyin it, i wish i could tell u it was lifter tick, if it was the noise would be less pronounced and would kinda subside above 2500-3000 rpms, your best bet, if diy is to pull your oil pan, pull of each rod cap 1 at a time, and look for scoring, 99% sure once you drain your engine oil before doin it youll see some shiny metal shavings coming out with the oil. Could be costly, best advice, is dont cut any corners or you could end up in a similar headache later on. Poor bby, that sucks man, but mine had to be replaced around 60ish k, but mine was due to either bad rings on #3 or a bad cylinder wall. dependin on the internal damage, might be a cheaper option to source a 2.4, and a stock appearing upgraded turbo. If your budgets a 1000, to be honest man, it wont be enough you might need to throw it on a credit card, cuz damage like this could go up to at least 3-5k, kinda why i recommended a 2.4 engine swap you can find em a lot cheaper, and gives you room to play with for the accesory parts youll need due to the possibility of the oil cooler and other parts receiving the metal flakes in it.
GOOD LUCK

Rod or main bearing. I had a main bearing go on my evo and it sounded just like a rod knock.

Going to be a little more than $1k to fix.
