Bump any other suggestions on post # 12 setup options ? What Pistons and connecting rods and head gaskets are everyone running ? Acl the only way to go with bearings? Also my friend mentioned arp l19 headstuds what is the difference between them and stnd arps . Thanks

 

L19 and H11 head studs are a tool steel stud instead of 8740 standard chromoly. The L19/H11 stud can handle more torque when assembling and more abuse over the standard ARP's.

Pistons - We are a big believer in Wiseco 1400HD pistons when looking to make anything over 600whp. You will see a ton of people running these pistons, and for a good reason.

Rods - Will depend on the overall power goal for the car, however there is a few different options. Once you get everything narrowed down as far as power and goal. Picking a rod will be very simple.

As Adam says rods are kind of a preference. Map rods seem to work, or Manly rods are used a ton as well. Belts for a big build should be all kevlar. No other way around it being its just added insurance. Gates is what I have always used with good success. Good quality fluids, good clutch, and probabily the best one a good quality tuner. That will usually make or break your build.

 

If the power goal is 600whp+ safely, go with a set of Ibeams.

That is our rods, built for us by Howard's. The same ones Cursedsm mentioned above. Uses a early DSM 6-bolt bearing that is wider than the factor EVO bearing. Supports more load than the standard bearing and has products some very high rev's for us without any issues.

 

Those will be the rods I go with when I decide to build a motor for sure.
