hi, i am starting the process of building a 2.3l motor. I have two motors so there will be very lil down time. I need help on some things though. I just wanna get the short block done first so that is my first worry. I am gonna be using wiesco 1400 HD pistons (9:1) and manley turbo tuff I beam rods. My question is what pistons do i buy? the ones that say stroker or what? Also, what rods do i get cause i see that there is a couple different I beam ones like stroker straight beam, 156mm, 162mm, and the regular I beam. Please help me thank you

 

You need to get the ones that say "stroker" and/or "2.3L" right on it. Make sure the part number for the 1400HD piston is:
K627M85 for the 85mm
K627M855 for the 85.5mm
K627M86 for the 86mm
I would recommend going 85.5mm if you're getting the block machined.

As for rods, you can get stock size rods, which is 150mm.

As for crank, you can get an OEM 4G64 100mm crank or aftermarket one like a Manley 100mm.

 

whats the difference with the pistons? why 85.5mm and not 85mm or 86mm? and why not the 162mm, 156mm or stroker straight I beam? whats the difference? thanks
