Diveter valve that doesnt flutter
Diveter valve that doesnt flutter
I have a 2003 evo 8 full boltons on e85 at 28psi.. I kno forsure my stock one leaks badly even before 6 psi or so. Ive been readin alot of threads on vavles but im worried about partial throttle flutter since it is my daily and dnt wanna really ruin driveability. Any suggestiOns
thats why i bought the synapse. my motor isnt together yet so i cant give you any feed back just yet but i wanted something that had quick responce n i didnt wana have to worry about spring pressures.
just crush the stock ix bov. I am also running e85 at 28psi and it works great with very minimal flutter. (I'm coming from a vta hks lol) stock bov is the best but if you want to run high boost then there will be some trade off with flutter and aftermarket bovs. I think a properly crushed stock is the best way to go.
I'm running 28PSI on the Synapse and it flutters like crazy at part throttle. Especially in 5th gear on the highway. Makes it very difficult to drive in the mountains at a steady speed.
I don't really have any flutter problems with the Synapse at 26 psi. I really like it... so much so that when someone accidentally smashed my last one I just ordered another one right away.

sounds like a vacume or port issue. i know they can be finicky for some people..Aaron at ER has an idea for my car using vacume from the fuel systum to where if i lose fuel pressure it will automaticly dump boost.
The hybrid ones are the only ones that don't buck and surge. If you can find an APS Twin vent that's the best currently. Some others have tested the Cobb one and give it the thumbs up as well. The topic's been beaten to death, lots of posts on it.
Balancing your spring rate slightly on the light side can effectively use the bov to vent the surge or no? For instance my hta71 part throttle surged or fluttered bad witv a rfl bov with washers to stiffer the rate. Soften the spring a lot and driving was way better .. although sacrificing something.
