evo rear question

evo rear question

Im looking into buying an evo and a lot of people are telling me i may be in for a suprise when rear gives out on me. is this the truth or is it just bs.? ive heard around the forums that the rears can be pretty weak but people are making like they are made of cardboard

the rear is fine u have to worry about the t case but all depends on how u can drive an what u want out of the car ,an if the rear break i have one for sale lol

please be more specific, what do you mean by "rear", is it the rear end that might loose control in a turn, or is it the rear differential that might break ( never heard of one breaking) or is it the rear bumper that you are afraid that might fall off the car? ???

Rear diff is not a weak part on the evo, like flabber said, maybe the t-case can be considered weak, but it all depends on how you treat the car.

transfer case is all you have to worry about, but thats only if the car was neglected. also the only other weak link is the 6 speed trans in the mr's but thats only if you plan on making alot of power.

yea i knew about the tranny just wanted to clear up the rear thing, thanks everyone.

I think they were mistaken. Your rear will hurt after you spend money on all the "upgrades" LOL

My rear diff is original as is the trans and TC.... Diaqueen Baby
