Evo 8 20g artisan turbo????

Hi forum,

Im new to posting but have been reading your forum for about a year doing upgrades and such.....but im in the market for a new turbo. i have came across an artisan 20g for $975 and they are claiming it put out 475 hp. my goal is 400hp daily driven. i was wondering if anyone has this turbo and any information about it. i have done a search and cant find anything, if i missed it please direct me in the correct direction to find the information.

current mods. 272 cams, injen hardpipe kit, Grimspeed 3 port. turbo back 3in with high flow cat. hks intake. compression tested it yesterday and got 150/160/160/160 from left to right got 301hp and 280tq on a mustang dyno. boost leak test was done before the dyno. I didnt get to finish the tunes due to a coolant line bursting.

evo 8 has 91000 miles on it.

please any information would be great!

With e85, an evo 9 turbo, and the right supporting mods you could make 400. No need to get a $900 turbo. BTW, what cams do you have?

Cosworth 272s, your saying just a stock 9 turbo will work?

 

Stock 9 turbos and e85 fuel can produce 400awhp numbers on a dynojet.

However, if the turbo you are interested is what fits your budget, then try finding a used stock frame turbo such as a bbk, fp green, or hks gtII. Those you know are proven to meet your goals.

What about if you're E85less?

 

Pump gas + a meth kit would probably be the other option most other people do.

 

have any of you guys heard of the artisan 20g turbo though? is it legit??? its only 975 which sounds like a great deal!
