Just damaged my factory radiator, so am looking at a 3 core. My car is a dedicated race car, but generally short runs like street sprints and hill climbs. Hopefully it holds up.

I know this thread is old but....

I didn't see anyone post up Cali weather here. Is it do-able? Will it work without the car over heating? Has n e 1 had any engines over heating? I would love to do this to my car to give me space.

Don't do it car will heat up on traffic half rad isn't large enough only good for drag. Get a blitz or cre slim rad only.

Me too. I'm also using the civic half radiator. As long as I'm driving normal, it's okay. But if I street racing in the middle of the day at 90-100 degree. Trust me the temp gauge will shown more than 3/4 high. It will go all the way up if I keep running hard on it.
Last time I drive normal , it heat up a lil bit. But when I let go the gas for a lil bit, the temperature goes back down. I change out to a new thermostat and it's fine again.

Obviously, we all have to remember that if you have a smaller container...it will always heat up easier than a big container.
I would recommend a better brand than a civic half radiator. I also have the high speed 12" spal fan , not the cheap Ebay slim fan.

It save money if you want to put ff setup.

I've had my 3 core Civic Rad in my Evo 5 for a few months now, and have completed a race event. No problems so far, temps look good during a run. I was abit paranoid with temps when sitting on the line waiting for my run, but I think I'm over reacting as temps were under 100c. I fitted a 13" Spal low profile fan to free up some room for my 4" intake. Pretty happy with it so far.
