I just did this swap so i figured I'd share my experience . All in all it wasn't too difficult of a swap. I ended up hitting up orielly's for the upper hose. part # is 24020, its a 1 1/4 ID very heavy duty hose. I also ended up getting two new clamps(screw down style) because the original spring clamps wouldnt work for me. On the thermostat housing, the new hose was too thick, once again very heavy duty. Then on the lower hose at the new DNA radiator I had a small drip every 5 seconds. Putting a screw down clamp on that fixed the problem.

Also ended up getting 4 feet of new overflow line which was more than enough.

Here's some pics! Enjoy

I think i would opt for the mirage rad first. A frontal area thing. Im also running a stock location hair dryer. But test results would be nice for consideration.

Hmmmm this with a 145 degree thermostat to much? I'm running a giant Megan radiator that runs 2+ gallons with the 145 degree thermostat. Just looking to drop weight...

Not trying to be negative in anyway but you have basically reduced the cooling capacity by %50..?
How has summer been for those that have gone through it with such a reduced radiator?
Very interested as it makes way for a bigger blower...

depending on the thermostat employed, the fan may just cycle more often but with a higher cfm fan, that cycling would be reduced

I was excited to finish my radiator and tested it out yesterday. The temp was in the low 70's. As I was bleeding out the system, the fan would kick on, so I was happy with the ebay fan

I did notice getting ready for a test drive that the fan would kick on rather often, compared to my OEM set up.

My temp gauge on the dash showed normal coolant temps, but evoscan showed it climbing quite high. I'm normally in the 195's, but this was at 206 and climbing, 219 and finally at 226. I'm thinking I may get a better fan (slimfan or Fal) that pulls more air and/or using the race thermostat although I don't think that will help. Any suggestions?
