^^^ How about trying the three core half radiator?

Are you sure you got all the air bubbles out? It doesnt make sense. We have the same motor and my car never saw water temps more than 194 on a warm 86* weather day. Why is your car having issues?

If my theory is correct and I'm lifting the head at WOT, then it would cause the cooling system to pressurize and send coolant to the overflow bottle. If the system isn't air tight then the fluid won't come back to the radiator when it cools down causing overheat.

I'm going to bleed the system and stay out of boost. I'll log my temps and report back. It may not happen for a couple of days though.

Major problems! Head Gasket Blown, at least that's what I suspect. There is oil in my coolant. Here's my thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ption-3-a.html

I'm thinking of just replacing the HG and put in springs, valve stem seals and some other minor stuff. I thought about doing a built motor and head, but I have far too many callings for my money right now. I'm at 118K miles right now and I DD it. I'm hoping to get another 90K miles . By then I'll have another DD and I could build this motor/trans/etc. My wife said I could

so overall if you dont have a blown head gasket this mod works!! i plan on doing this as soon as i get back from the desert as my upper hose is pretty much touching my tubular manifold. i will look at the 3 core, i would much rather have more to cool down than not enough. but im glad people are not afraid to try these mods at the risk of their DD.

how did you fit the lower radiator hose without rubbing against the motor mount?

I can't say for sure. Once I get the HG fixed I'll report back. I'm pretty sure the HG is why I'm overheating.

Mine is rubbing. I think BluEVOIX put a larger piece of silicone tubing around the lower radiator hose to protect it. I'll be relocating the lower tube to stock location once I have it all apart next week. I have a new TIG welder I'm looking forward to using, so this will be my first project.

My was barely barely rubbing the lower mount. I just cut some of the extra hose I had from the top and split it and wrapped it around it.

Judging by the way he was saying "get by with it". I doubt that he has fixed it, and was just trying to limp to his destination..

No, parts are coming in at the end of the week. I'll have it done the week of the 4th of July.

Exactly.

I have compared it to evoscan. When my gauge is barely above the 1/2 way point it is reading 250*F. I can't imagine what it was today. I wasn't logging. It seems like we should all get coolant temp gauges.
