Burped the system for over 30mins with the heater on. Temps sat around 197 in my driveway. Well another drive down the road yielded 217 degrees shifting at 3k rpms and traveling at 30-40mph. When I turn the heater on this awesome warm day then it drops but only to 208 degrees. I don't know what is wrong? Did I go to cheap?

I think the big question here is what fan is everyone running? When my cheap 1500cfm fan kicks on it feels like its not moving much air. Like a hair dryer on low setting. Maybe one of those FAL fans will be my next purchase.

adding a fan shroud should be considered a must do when adding one of these setups. i logged a 15* temperature difference when adding a shroud to my setup. also, a good fan. i recommend a SPAL fan or if you want awesome all in one, the FAL setup for Civics is a proven and well worthwhile upgrade.

Other than just letting it burp on its own, did you also squeeze the the top radiator hose ? Maybe that might help get any air bubbles trapped.

Also did you open the cap of the radiator and look inside to make sure its dual core? Maybe they sent you a single core by accident?

Not sure if you mentioned this, but are you re-using the oem radiator cap?

I was constantly squeezing the upper radiator hose for 15 mins. Just rechecked and the radiator is 2 core and 2 inches wide.

I had a giant Megan radiator on the car but my o2 dump won't allow me to reuse it. So I'm using the 1.3 cap that came with the Honda radiator.

I really don't have time to play around and figure this out. So tonight I caved and purchased a koyo half radiator and a F-A-L shrouded fan

I did this too. I have the STM one. It has lowered my temps over the ebay one, but it's still 10-15* hotter than OEM. So far I'm ok with that.

fan and cap may be the culprits
get back a 1.1 bar cap/16 pound and a good brand fan cause those no name fans are overrated

I did this a LONG time ago.. The ebay radiators work but as time went by my radiator started to expanded and eventually leaked.

Car never over heated causing the issue.

Yes. But I'm not giving up yet. I need to flush the system out a few times to get all the oil that was in the system. I can see some residue in my "KillerGlass" tube. I'm also going to take off the front 7" fan I put on. I think it maybe restricting some airflow.

The temp gauge in the car stays below the 1/2 way mark, but when logging it's at 200-210. My OE radiator kept the car below 200. I don't think I've ever seen it above 199. I'm not too worried though.

I actually have a BNIB cooler Mishimoto T-Stat. I decided not to run it and run a new OEM one. I may try it after I flush the system and take off the front fan.

I am also using the RedLine Water Wetter. I'll log without the Water Wetter and then with. I am contemplating running with a 4:1 water to coolant ratio. Any downside to this, besides during the fall and winter months. I'm thinking just for August and maybe September.

Well I changed my cap to the 1.1 that was on my Megan radiator. Seems to have cooled me down just a little bit. Was running at 197 degrees yesterday afternoon with outside temps at 87 degrees but feels like 99 degrees with the humidity cruising at 45 MPH.

Also this morning I decided to drive to work and with the heater on full blast and running about 45mph (80 degrees outside with high humidity). I was at 182 most of the drive. When I would roll up to a stop light for about 20 seconds the temps would jump up into the mid 190's and slowly make their way back down into the 180's on speed limit. When I pulled into a parking spot and let the turbo timer do it's job for 30 seconds the temps climb to around 203-205 before the car cuts off. Hopefully with the koyo radiator/fal fan setup/with water wetter I can make my temps more stable.

Gotta remember that this is hottest month in the panhandle of florida and the humidity is brutal. Once september rolls around I think a half radiator will be good from September to May in Florida. Might have to change out my radiator for a larger one in the summer time. I don't think the car will overheat in the summer but it will definitely run too warm for my taste. I still have my a/c and a giant intercooler on the front that restricts air, so guess I gotta take that into consideration
