DIY CUSTOM Battery Relocation!
2 Gauge should really be the minimum for using when you relocate the battery to the trunk though.
side effects could be the cable not being able to push the needed amperage, could cause weird electrical issues. 4 gauge is just not really ideal is the thing. I mean if you dont run alot of accessories and you have a really high quality 4 gauge you MIGHT be ok. Its sort of like asking if its ok to run a 2" exhaust on a 400hp evo--- I wouldnt, but I GUESS its possible.
Does that mean i will have to remove my neon lights??haha but in serious matter my common sense kicked in thinking it would work since i have turn over a semi using the same cables don't get me wrong they got a lil warm after a few trys but o well :/ so far so good ill repost if i have any problems
best cable to get is not the stuff they use for stereo amps. go to a local welding supply store and get welding cable. its extremely flexibly and well shielded, made of good quiality conductor and a reasonable price.
don't forget to check with your track tech inspection requiremnts. some places will mandate the need for a disconnect knob since the relocated battery will have to be in an inclosure and in case of fire becomes difficult to remove the cables.
