I was looking to do this but after seeing the Taylor kit I thought there had to be a cheaper DIY solution. Thanks for saving me come cash!

Has anyone used a circuit breaker for the relocation? How much Amp? Maybe a 200A is too small and can go off during crank?

2 Gauge should really be the minimum for using when you relocate the battery to the trunk though.

side effects could be the cable not being able to push the needed amperage, could cause weird electrical issues. 4 gauge is just not really ideal is the thing. I mean if you dont run alot of accessories and you have a really high quality 4 gauge you MIGHT be ok. Its sort of like asking if its ok to run a 2" exhaust on a 400hp evo--- I wouldnt, but I GUESS its possible.

will have serious problems starting on a hot day. 2 gauge minimum if you have a big strong battery. use 1 gauge with a mini battery and you do not want to run a wire all the way to the front for the negative and add more resistance. ground close to battery and again near the engine.

best cable to get is not the stuff they use for stereo amps. go to a local welding supply store and get welding cable. its extremely flexibly and well shielded, made of good quiality conductor and a reasonable price.

don't forget to check with your track tech inspection requiremnts. some places will mandate the need for a disconnect knob since the relocated battery will have to be in an inclosure and in case of fire becomes difficult to remove the cables.
