Buschur Racing turbo kits & dyno numbers
We did not do any more testing with our EVO. As a matter of fact our EVO is going to be down until we get these damn manifolds back. I just pulled our entire turbo kit off our own car to send to Robert Fuller for an event in California.
Yes, there will be pump gas tunes for the turbo kits. Great guy and customer of ours just left with the first actual production turbo kit on his car this morning. He is on his way to see Al and dyno on Pruven's AWD Dynojet with his car. He has our Stage 4 kit on the car, 780 cc injectors, bone stock head/shortblock and the turbo kit. Al is going to do a 18-20 psi 94 octane pump gas tune for the car. We are hoping the car will make 400-425 whp on 94 octane, I think that would be good. Mike, the car owner, will then be able to just add race fuel and up the boost for track use.
The stock upgraded turbo should NOT need a larger fuel injector, especially at pump gas boost levels.
Thanks,
David Buschur

BUMP BUMP BUMP!
New Times? How did the guy on the west coast run? When are you guys going to take yours to the track? Are you going to take it to any of the NHRA/IDRC events at E-Town, Atco or Maple Grove? Pruven is at 11.1, Turbotrix is at 10.8, Al is at 11.2, - Let's see some times!

I drove in that car the Dave is talking about. It pulled like a raped ape and held boost at a firm 20psi. NO bobble or spike at all. Hits 20psi like a steel door. Just BAMMMM and you have it.
Truely nice car. Mike is a great guy!

Thanks Chad, glad you enjoyed the car as much as I have. Buschur Racing is just an outstanding company. Many vendors are more than happy to spend time with you when you are buying their product. It's service AFTER the sale where Buschur shines. Everyone who may be getting a little impatient waiting for the kits, hang in there. IT'S WORTH IT!!
TURBO KITS ARE DONE!!!!! Finally, we have manifolds here on the shelf. The BR500 kits are ready to ship immediately. The BR440's will be some time late this week, we are waiting on turbos to come in.
We haven't run our car since last year. It is actually in "pieces" in front of the shop. We had to steal our turbo kit and send it to Robert Fuller for an event. The car will be going back together soon and then back to the track. The car will be equipped with the BR580.
Check the website this week for turbo kit information and pictures on the site. The pictures are taken and should be able to be viewed this week.
Kit price for the BR440 and 500 is $2300. I am going to honor the price until I figure out our final cost on these kits. I have a feeling they will go up to closer to $2500 once I get all the parts added up and machining. I don't see the kits ever being cheaper than this $2300 price.
Thanks for all the questions over the last few months and patience. The kits are ready so just give us a call and order if you want one.
Thanks again,
David Buschur

Too bad I am closing on a house Tuesday or I would be first in line...... my turbo money went for our down payment. Next pile of money that falls in my lap will be sent to Buschur Racing as soon as it hits my bank account!
Keith
PS: What is the price on the BR 580 with the ball bearing option?
other than the stage 4, what mods would you recommend for the br580? or is that turbo only far fully built motors? i am looking the ultimate street/drag set up, where i will be mostly running on 91 octane.
B R, I don't beleive you guys provided enough info on the characteristics of the BR500. You left it at it spools slower than the 440. Give us more detail as to the spool up of this turbo, please. Thanks
Yeah, the information presented here is just a little sketchy. I trust Buschur but seriously, there is no information available to make an informed decision. There's got to be a better way than reading a 417 post thread.
If you guys are probing for specifics on the turbo mechanics or airflow characteristics, don't bother. He made it pretty clear earlier in the thread that most of that stuff has to remain private lest others attempt to copy it.
I run a standard bearing BR500 on my Talon with a 264/272 cam combo, fmic, FRH intake manifold, and external dump for the internal WG. It obviously has all the supporting fuel and airflow mods. The BR500 hits 15 psi by 3500 RPM, 20 PSI by 4000 RPM, and 26 psi by 4200 RPM on my Talon. I have never been able to shift out of the boost no matter how slow I shift (within reason, of course). I have run a 12.1 at 120 mph so far on pump gas. That 120 mph tells me I should be well in the 11's, but my launching needs some work. I ran a sad, sad 2.0s 60 ft. time that run. With my current stutter box setup, I fully expect to run 11's on pump gas this season and hope to dip into the 10's on some race gas, but that remains to be seen. Basically, if you want 11's this turbo will get you there, no problem. It is a great turbo and I recommend it to anyone who wants to do business with the proven and respected company that is Buschur Racing.
