I remember having the same thing on a few items but I verified the part numbers and ordered them anyway. Just verify that the parts you need from looking through this thread.

To further help. If you still want a oem tensioner and mot a gates while not spending a bunch more advanced auto sells aisin, who is the oe manufacturer for Mitsubishi, and has the same Mitsubishi part number
they are 100$ at on advanced auto.com
aisin is made is Japan vs gates which is made in China

Thank you, Massimo's phone is not connected so I almost had to spend $500 on a timing belt kit which would mean no turbo! So I am very happy to find this and I think it deserves to be bumped too.

Great thread! About to start collecting parts for my timing belt service, a lot of the prices have changed since the original post but still fairly similar (Amazon has the best prices so far currently $229 for all gates items except for an oem timing belt tensioner pulley). How are the gates water pumps lasting (I know it's a preventative maintenance part so better than leaving the oem in) are they making it the full 50-60k miles til the next change and running the evo 8 water pump is fine on the 9's there's just an extra mounting hole that is not utilized? Also most people are running the standard black gates T167 timing belt not the upgraded "blue race belt" correct?

theres a list of pasrts on the description you can get it from rock auto and delivered to you in 2 days. (a grand total of $268.80)

I just did mine, took me about 5 hours (could have been less but it was my first time doing a belt on an EVO)

check this out.

Im awaiting confirmation for fitment on EVO, but given that is the same engine im inclined to think that it will fit without issues. You can get everything for $175

Saw that video and was actually able to find everything cheaper on Amazon for $229 but I was just wondering the reliability and longevity of the Gates parts made in China. I verified with pictures that the gates belts were made in USA and the bearings were GMB which is made in Japan. The Gates timing belt tensioner is made in China but from this thread I was able to find an Aisin one from Napa that's a little bit cheaper than OEM. The Gates water pump is the only item I couldn't find out where it was made. I did find an evo 8 GMB water pump that was just a bit more expensive that the Gates.

I would like to hear from some people about how well their gates pump and belt lasted.
