Changing t-case oil every 5k seems a bit excessive to me.

Either way; I've been using the fill plug method and have gotten in plenty of fluid before it started dripping out, so I'm very confident that it hasn't been under-filled. Also, with the use the car is seeing, had it been under-filled I think it already would've blown.

some people might want to think before they speak. who gives a **** how you fill your TC or rear Dif. there is many ways to do it and he was just giving us another way to give it a shot. it might work for some it might not. but its a way of him giving the community options and showing what he is doing.

i for one do the gravity feed. and i ****ing hate every second about it. i will give this a shot. its simple enough to make and try. thank you Street.

No problem man! I try to do what I can to help others out.

I've spent more money on drivetrain parts alone in the 6 years I've owned my EVO than a lot of guys spend on their entire car. I've been through the ****ter many times and have learned a lot. My car has probably a solid 600-700 1/4 mile passes on it. There is a big difference between an EVO making 300-400 whp vs one making 700 + and at high horsepower levels keeping the proper amount of fluid in there is VERY important.

Again I am very pleased with how well this worked and will not go back to doing it the old way.

I like this idea. I tend to overfill everything and then let it out after a drive. It is a pita. The gun from Harbor Freight is nice. I use a Matco one that doesnt have suction and the first time I used it I was so confused as to why I couldnt get fluid in the gun. Then I found out the top unscrews and you just fill from the bottle then close it up. WAY BETTER than the gravity feed method.

Mind you I'm not a tuner or such just a backyard wrench turner and have yet to have any issues because of filling these from the fill holes.

I guess if it works for you knock yourself out. It just seems beyond stupidity to me.
How is it stupid? Tcase fluid is very thick. So rather than filling, driving than refilling why not save yourself the hassle. At FFTEC in Hayward, Ca they reccomend this way.

The way I fill it though is to use a tube which is 1/4 of and inch thick I believe. Take out the drain and fill plug. Put the tube in the drain hole. Pump until it starts coming out of the fill hole. Then I put the fill plug back on and pump 2 more times and quickly put the drain plug on..

my method is simple and fast. with minimal amount of waste air pressure pumps the fluid in quick. with the tcase you have to wait till the fluid settle throughout the case before topping off. the plastic tube almost plugs the fill hole so very little leaks out when over filled.

filling through the bottom I dont understand. would be real messy getting plug back in. REAL messy. and those pumps leak out the back when held upside down. plus it looks like it doesnt hold enough to fill with one plunge. so you go through the leak at little, messy connect/disconnect thing.

please be careful if you use my method. you have to be careful with the air pressure. good idea to regulate pressure to like 15 psi at your air compressor. although I always use the full 150 psi and regulate right at air valve. lots of air leak. you can see fluid transfer from hose and bottle so its sweet and easy.
