anti freeze question

Ok a few things whats the best way to drain all the coolant and flush it with the evo 8?

I have to put in a new water pump and timing belt so i fidgured the time was perfect for changing the anti freeze

first I live in AZ where our winters get into the 40's I guess maybe once in a while freezing but was wondering if I could get away with wetter water and distilled water?

I was thinking 2-3 bottles of wetter water and how ever much distilled water it takes?

would you guys suggest adding antifreeze like 50/50 or no?

if so whats better to run normal or dexacool?

thanks for your guys help

Definitely don't use Dexacool!!! Heard mixed reviews about water wetter. Can't go wrong with 50/50.

I have personally ran Distilled water and 1 bottle of water wetter in my car during the summer and never had any heating issues

Great link with instructions on How to: Radiator fluid flush & coolant flush.

id do at least 25% coolant for lubricity and corrosion protection. and yes on the water wetter, its good stuff.

I go with prestone 50/50. Noticed some other coolants still use a amount of silicate.

I only ran one bottle and this was for a short period of time from Jun-Sept. Yes running a little coolant in the system would be ideal to help with lubrication, but on most tracks they don't want any coolant in the cars to help with mess clean up if something where to happen. There where 5 events in this time frame and I didn't want to drain coolant all the times so I ran the water with water wetter. I am sure I could used 2, but I just had one sitting in my garage at the time and used it

I would not say that this is a good long term solution just saying what I have tried and I have seen more rust in my other motor that has always had coolant in it than my Evo that ran water though it Less miles on the motor, but still the same year car/ motor

Thanks,
Dallin
