I just got tuned yesterday at English racing and love the work they do.I went in when I was pretty stock and only had walbro fuel pump and mbc 271/285tq.I did a few mods and came back with buschur bullet tbe,3" ets intercooler,ets licp,and 4.5" amsoil cone filter.I was thinking i might get 320/310 or so but got 304/300.

Im new to evolutionm and mitsubushis and have done a bit of searching and studying on this site.I think im asking way to much from the mods if done but was wondering what you think.Im going to be purchasing an 02 dump very soon(jdl) but wondering if I have to get cams

 

What PSI did they tune it at? What Fuel are you using? An 02 dump would help. Wouldn't hurt to get your intake or exuast manifold ported. Even on 91 you should be able to get 320 without cams.

Its an evo 8 on stock cams, stock 8 turbo (it sounds like?), relatively mild mods and low boost. This is about right. What are you planning to do with the car? Is it a track car or just daily driving?

 

Yes stock cams and 8 turbo.....Lucas had told me to not even bother with an ix turbo seeing how I have the 10.5 hotside.The difference will be really small is what he was getting at.I have a goal of 400hp and if not that close with good torque.

 

If you want around 400 with 93 you might as well get a new turbo like lucas said. BBK full or FP green if you care about quick spool and torque. FP red or EF3 ect if you want the easy route to 400hp.

 

^^ We only have 92 here. To get 400 you are going to need a bigger turbo, cams and the dump will help a lot for starters. E85 would help if you wanted to switch to that as well.

 

FWIW-

Average stock cam VIII on 92 makes 310-315 here. I have only seen 3 cars make 320s without cams or intermittent knock. This particular car had all the right mods to make 315 but air quality wasnt the best (raining). It did go from 271 to 304 and picked up even more out the top though

I have the upmost trust in you Aaron and only made this thread so I won't keep you on the phone forever.Like we discussed 02 dump and cams are a must but wondered if there was any other routes or combos without spending a ton.Ill have to do a search but how streetable are the s2 cams? I also remember you mentioning the s1 cams

 

Don't get heartbroken on what numbers you got on the Dyno...it's a tuning tool and thats all, Be happy knowing English Racing tuned your car safely.
