exedy twin. stabbing evo tranny first-timer

this is my first trans r&r on an evo. it has an exedy twin. i removed it with care so the springs and everything stayed properly stacked on top of the tob, but the circlip remained loose just inside the pressure plate/fingers. what do i do with it?

i couldnt find a write-up with this in it. i would not like to screw up something so simple in respect to how much work this is, as this is a bit of a pita on my garage floor by myself.

Are you talking about the wave ring clip? If so you more than likley broke it/mangled it getting it off. So order a new one.

Personally I would pull the clutch apart and check the thickness of the friction plates. Now may be the time to replace them. ;-)

When you installed the clutch did you install it with the wave clip in the clutch or on the TOB
