hey my car wasnt started for 3 weeks, i started it up yesterday and i noticed this loud ticking sound that wasnt there before,


it sounds exactly like in this video i cant upload my video for some reason

 

Sound wont work for me , how cold was it and whats your oil type?

i was runing amsoil 20-50w oil, i changed it to 10-30w mobil one today and still sameee sound it gets louder when i drivee and my A/F ratio is going lean/rich back and forth its around 35-40 degrees in ny

 

im thinking one of the lifters collapsed or bled out when it sat not driven for a month

 

If you have cams I wouldn't worry about it. Practically every Evo with cams sounds like that. Including mine. Now if your on stock cams, I really can't say what it would be. maybe really loud injectors? j/k

Since a rod bearing can't go bad while the car is parked for 3 weeks, I'd suggest a new set of lifters. If that doesn't cure it then I'd suggest checking the bearings and wrist pins.

As for the fuel mixture problem, do you mean it goes rich/lean when in closed loop, because that is normal, or open loop because that isn't.

 

yeah rich/lean in closed loop, so im guessing thats normal

 

And for some reason car runs lean

 

You probably need to look at your tune.

 

I found it! Got exhaust leak where downpipe conects to 02 housing
