Turbo options and cost

Hi all -
I have an '03 Evo 8 with a stock turbo. I have done some performance upgrades (see sig) and was thinking its time to squeeze some extra horsepower via a turbo. This is a DD with plans for some Autocrossing.
From the research i've done, the FP green seems like the best option for a DD (I want more linear power than the red or black)

So my question is - I'm trying to figure out what this will cost aside from teh turbo. Do I need any other mods to support? Should I just try to buy a Evo 9 turbo instead?
Thanks

My Car - 2003 Evo -----My Modifications:
Power
HKS Turbo timer
HKS Cams 264/273
Denso 720cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
HKS Hi-Power catback exhaust
Test Pipe
Agency Power intake (cone filter)
MBC Pullman

Don't try and figure out how much it will cost first... it will most always cost more than you anticipate. Decide on how much you are willing to spend first. Do you have alternative fuel near you like e85? E85 is the best bang for your buck, then do a turbo upgrade. Ported hta green is a great choice for dd, auto x, etc. Throw an invidia o2 housing on while you are at it.

Unfortunately I dont have e85 anywhere around me so I plan to run 91 (Im in Cali)
I wanted to try to upgrade with install for less than $2500. I know thats probably not enough...

If staying on 91 you'll be good as far as injectors go if your planning to stay stock frame.
A green , red, bbk full; all journal bearings can be had for under 1500 used.

I have an 03 evo 8 too and went through the same thing. On 91 the evo 8 turbo with an o2 housing, licp and fmic will be done at 300awhp on a mustang dyno.

I run e85 and 91 on 91 i made 355 on e85 i made 435 on a mustang dyno, both are conservative tunes.

So if 350 ish is your power goal go with a bbk full or a green, if you want more a red will get you to 380 or so.

either way if you get a 9 turbo, green bbk full or a red you will need

o2 housing ($100) megan works fine
3.5 fmic (<$500) ets, perrin, ams
evo 9 bov ($60)
LICP (<$200) muse, ets

Since you don't have e85 go with a green or a bbk full and that will bring your total to under 2500 without a tune and without labor.

I personally did it myself with some buddies.
Pulled the front bumper, and radiator and just went from there, it will take you a day tops.

Thanks xXANCHORMONXx - Thats the info I was looking for. I wish I had some evo buddies to help out; but will have to handle this with just me and my dog and some beer

I guess its time to start stalking the classifieds
