Another bump for the thread.
Since there already is a comparison, then I don't see point in creating a new topic, I hope that it's fine.
I will be building for my company a jig to test Evo 8 and 9 CV shafts, that means all the parts will be on a steel frame and not in any kind of vehicle. If we are talking about front shafts, then, as I understand, it is possible to accidentally mix regular Lancer's shaft and Evo's one. So am I correct that it means that Evo's shaft would fit with a FWD Lancer's gearbox as well? And on the other end, does outer CV-joint fit FWD Lancer's hub? If yes, then what are the limitations (model year, engine...)?

Would it be possible to cross fit some parts with some other models, e.g Galant?

Just as an explanation once again: the only thing that needs to be Evo, is the CV axle, gearbox on one end and hub on the other end will come from the junk yard anyway, so I would like to clarify, what options besides Evos do I have.

Thanks in advance!

PS: tried to dig in the catalogues as well before posting, however I wasn't too lucky

GSP Axle

Don’t mean to kick this up but has anyone experienced GSP front axles for Evo 7/8/9 with no fitment/leak issues? Thanks!

Bump

Now that it has been a few years since this post, I would like to know suggestions on replacing my axles. My driver's side needs to be replaced and since I cannot find oem or even refurb oem full axle replacement. I'm not sure what to do. On stmtuned and maperformance they offer a dss basic for 188$ I believe and a dss 900 hp replacement for closer to 400$. Since they aren't oem should I replace both sides together (entire front)? Any suggestions on where to find rebuild oem? What would you suggest. Evo 8 currently makes 350whp and I don't plan on going higher than 400 in the future. Thanks

You can do one axle at a time, it's not an issue. Just do the stage 0 DSS or wherever they're called.
